Terms of Service
Version 1.0 · Last updated September 30, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ZenInterpreter, an AI interpretation product, including the desktop application and this website (the “Service”).
1. Acceptance of these Terms
The Service is offered by the operator of ZenInterpreter (“Operator,” “we,” “us”). The Operator’s legal name is not published on this page yet. If the Operator is a company, the country of incorporation and registered address will be published in this section as well. Until that identity is published here, you can reach the Operator only at the email in section 16.
By creating an account, buying access, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you: (a) are at least 18 years old; (b) have read and agree to these Terms; (c) agree to our Privacy Policy; and (d) have authority to accept these Terms for yourself or for the organization you represent.
Important. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. If you keep using the Service after these Terms change, you accept the revised Terms.
2. The Service
2.1 What we provide
ZenInterpreter is desktop software that listens to speech you choose and shows a translation in real time. The primary pair is English to Chinese. Live subtitles and meeting export are part of the paid Service. Mac is available now. Windows is planned and is not available yet. The Service is digital software delivered over the internet.
2.2 How delivery works
This is an intangible digital product. Paid access begins when the payment is confirmed. Because access is delivered immediately, refunds are limited. The limits are in section 7.
2.3 Third-party AI
Translation uses third-party AI and translation providers. The default engine uses OpenAI. If you select the other engine, translation uses Google. Speech recognition runs in the app on your device. Availability and quality can depend on those providers. If a provider outage materially interrupts the Service, we will tell you when we can reach the email on your account.
3. Accounts
3.1 Creating an account
Paid access requires an account with accurate information. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials private and for activity under your account.
3.2 Security
- If you see unauthorized use, email support@zeninterpreter.website promptly.
- Do not share your sign-in credentials with anyone else.
- Keep the email address on your account working. We use it for billing and for notices under these Terms.
3.3 Organizations
If you accept these Terms for a company or other organization, you represent that you are allowed to bind that organization.
4. The access plan
The Service is sold as one purchase of 30 days of access for $9.90 USD. Current pricing is on the pricing section of this website. There is no monthly plan, no yearly plan, and no subscription.
If you already have unused time, another purchase is added to the time you have left. It does not replace that time. We may change the price of a future purchase. A price change does not change a purchase you have already completed.
5. Billing and payment
5.1 One-time charge authorization
Each purchase is a single transaction. When you complete checkout, you authorize the Operator to charge your payment method for the amount shown at checkout. That authorization covers that purchase only.
There is no automatic renewal and no automatic top-up. We will not charge you again unless you start another purchase yourself.
5.2 Taxes
Unless a price says otherwise, it does not include taxes such as VAT, GST, or sales tax. Where the law requires those taxes, they are collected at checkout.
6. How long access lasts
6.1 The 30-day period
A completed purchase provides 30 days of access. When that period ends, paid access ends. We do not charge you because a period ended. There is no subscription to cancel. To avoid a later charge, do not start another purchase.
6.2 Closing an account
You may ask us to close your account by emailing support@zeninterpreter.website from the email on the account. We will confirm by email. Unused time is not refunded because an account was closed, except where section 7 or a right the law does not let us waive says otherwise. Account information is kept for 90 days after closure and is then deleted, as described in the Privacy Policy, except for records the law requires us to keep.
7. Refunds
7.1 The general rule
Access is delivered as soon as payment is confirmed. A completed purchase is refundable only in the cases in this section. We do not refuse every refund.
7.2 When a refund is available
- Unused access within 7 days. If you have not used the paid features after a charge, you may request a full refund within 7 days after that charge.
- Duplicate charges. A charge made twice because of a billing error is refunded in full.
- A verified outage longer than 72 hours that we caused. We will extend your access or refund a proportional part of the purchase.
- Rights the law does not let us waive. This includes a withdrawal right for a first purchase where the law of your country provides one, such as in the European Union or the United Kingdom. Where the law allows, that right ends once you start using the digital Service.
7.3 How to ask
Email support@zeninterpreter.website with the email on your account, the transaction ID, and the reason. We will acknowledge the request within 2 business days. An approved refund is returned to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.
7.4 What is not refunded
- Access you have already used, except for a case in section 7.2.
- A request made only because the 30 days have ended.
- An account we close because you broke these Terms or the acceptable-use rules.
8. Billing disputes
If you believe a charge is wrong, email support@zeninterpreter.website before you dispute the charge with your bank. We will reply within 2 business days and correct a confirmed billing error within 5 business days.
9. AI output and intellectual property
9.1 Who owns the output
Subject to these Terms, AI output generated from what you submit belongs to you. You may use it for any lawful purpose that section 10 allows.
9.2 What you submit
When you submit audio or text, you give the Operator a limited, non-exclusive permission to process it only to provide the Service to you. We do not use what you submit to train our own models unless you have clearly agreed to that.
9.3 Third-party models
The Service depends on third-party model providers, including OpenAI and, when you select that engine, Google. Their models affect the output. We do not promise a particular level of translation quality, and we are not responsible for content those models produce, except where the law does not allow that limit.
9.4 Accuracy
AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. You are responsible for checking it before you rely on it.
10. Acceptable use
10.1 Permitted use
Use the Service only for lawful purposes that these Terms allow, including following a meeting, lecture, interview, or other conversation.
10.2 Prohibited use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to create illegal, defamatory, harassing, or fraudulent content;
- create or distribute deepfakes, including synthetic audio, video, or images that impersonate a real person or are meant to mislead someone about their origin;
- create sexual content involving minors, or otherwise violate child-protection law;
- create malware, phishing content, or tools for attacking computers or networks;
- infringe someone else’s intellectual property or privacy, including by recording or translating a person when you do not have the right to do so;
- bypass or interfere with the security of the Service;
- resell or sublicense access without our prior written permission;
- break applicable law, regulation, or card-network rules.
10.3 Rules that apply because this is an AI product
You also agree not to:
- use inputs, outputs, or other material from the Service to train, fine-tune, benchmark, distill, or otherwise build a model that competes with the Service;
- scrape or collect outputs at scale for a purpose other than your own authorized use;
- present AI output as the work of a licensed professional, such as a physician, lawyer, or financial adviser, where that could cause harm.
11. Data, privacy, and payment cards
The Privacy Policy describes how personal information is handled. Payment card data is processed only by our PCI-DSS payment processor, Waffo Pancake. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Account information is kept for 90 days after the account is closed and is then deleted, except for records the law requires us to keep.
12. Disclaimers and liability
12.1 No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and accuracy of AI output. Some places do not allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12.2 AI output
AI output is not professional advice. Translations can be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. ZenInterpreter is not a human interpreter. Do not use the output as legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. Check anything important with a qualified person before you act on it.
12.3 Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, the Operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data. The Operator’s total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. This section does not limit liability that the law says cannot be limited.
13. How long these Terms last
These Terms apply while you use the Service. We may suspend or close an account for a material breach, suspected fraud, or a legal requirement. If we stop offering the Service for a reason other than your breach, we will refund the unused part of access you have already paid for, in proportion to the time left. You may ask us to delete your account by emailing support@zeninterpreter.website.
14. Governing law
Before you start a formal proceeding, email support@zeninterpreter.website so we can try to resolve the issue informally. These Terms are governed by the law of the place where the Operator is established, once that place is published in section 1. Mandatory consumer rights in the place where you live are not reduced by this section. A court or arbitration venue is not named here.
15. Other terms
We may update these Terms. For a material change, we will email the address on your account at least 14 days before the change takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service and, if you want the account closed, email us. If one part of these Terms is held invalid, the rest stays in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and the Operator about the Service.
16. Contact
Questions about these Terms, a charge, a refund, closing an account, privacy, or security all go to one monitored address:
- Support, billing, refunds, account closure, legal, privacy, and security: support@zeninterpreter.website
A telephone number and a postal address are not published because they are not yet available. Using the Service, or checking an “I agree” box at checkout, means you have read and agree to these Terms.
